Positive Intelligence is the percentage of time our minds are working for us vs. against us (PQ Score).
In his NY Times best-selling book Positive Intelligence Stanford lecturer Shirzad Chamine talks about mental fitness.
It is your ability to handle life's inevitable stressors and challenges with a more calm, clear-headed, and laser-focused approach.
If you’re not physically fit, you’d feel physical stress as you climb a steep hill.

A key to Mental Fitness is to weaken the internal Saboteurs who generate all your “negativity” in the way they respond to challenges. Your Saboteurs cause all your stress, anxiety, self-doubt, frustration, regret, shame, guilt, and unhappiness. Saboteurs include the Judge, Controller, Avoider, Victim, Stickler, Restless, Hyper-rational, Pleaser, Hyper-achiever and Hyper-vigilant.
Unlike your saboteurs, your Sage lives in an entirely different region of your brain and handles challenges in ways that produce positive emotions like curiosity, empathy, creativity, calm, and clear-headed laser-focused action.
Your “Sage” is the real you. When the sage is in charge:
This is done by identifying those saboteurs that harm you the most, properly labeling them saboteur thoughts when they come into your mind and then letting them go.
This consists of accessing your inner wisdom. Reflect on how you can turn a problem into an opportunity. Whenever a problem arises.
This can be done through special exercises meant to build up positive intelligence “muscles” or the parts of the mind most involved in the Sage’s functions. Shift your attention to feeling your physical sensations, focusing on breathing or how your body feels sitting in a chair or standing, or rubbing your fingers or wiggling your toes. Do these repetitions for at least 10 seconds.
